Appiness is a warm iPhone

Yesterday I mentioned that we’d finally let the instructors have a go on the app we’re developing – here’s a few pictures from Monday’s session.

It took place in the park just next to BMF’s HQ in South West London. You can imagine the looks on people’s faces when a bunch of men in camouflage gear suddenly appeared and started working out.

Garry feels the burn, while Paul has a lie down in the background.

I have to admit, I was really nervous as they sprinted off to different corners of the park to try it out. It was the first time the iPhone app was really put through it’s paces by the instructors, and I was anxious as to what they’d make of it. It certainly looked like they were enjoying themselves – or at least they were sweating a lot, which I think is pretty much the same thing for these guys. I nervously snapped away on the camera while they got their exercise on. You can tell from the shots I’m no Peter Parker. Maybe Peter Porker.

I think I was worried they’d just flat out hate it, and that we’d not have done justice to all the hard work they’ve put into BMF over the years. But as it happened, they returned, exhausted, but with big grins on their faces.

BMF Instructors finally get their hands on the app (l-r): Simon Richman, Scott Steele, Mark Donaldson, James Clark, Garry Kerr, Paul Prothero.

The reaction was overwhelmingly positive, although they did have a few really good suggestions on how we could make it even better. “I’d definitely use that for my own training,” said James. “Even though I do 12 sessions a week with my classes, I still need to keep up my own fitness, it’s a good way to do that.”

It’s a great boost to my confidence in all honesty, and it was great to hang out with them. Paul mentioned that he’d read the blog too, which was cool, and they all agreed that I should start increasing my sessions up to three a week to really start seeing the benefits. “It’s all about momentum,” said Garry. Looks like I’m going to have to start working out on Saturdays too…

Good luck with your quest in getting fit with Britmilfit from Army Fitness in Stockholm. www.armyfitnessstockholm.wordp...

Thanks Sweeden! It's all getting a bit Eurovision song contest round
    here. ;)

Tell me about it. They have months of pre-competitions prior to the actual one here, very democratic.

  • garrykerr

Agree with Paul, it's a great App, all I need now is an iPhone!

  • Big_Fat_Geek

Glad you liked it Gary! Did you see that someone on Twitter was impressed that there was photographic evidence of you doing a press-up? ;)

  • garrykerr

Yeah! I try not to show of in front of the members lol

  • Paul Prothero

Enjoy is one word that could be used, as could surreal. Completely different to taking a class of course but once we got in the swing of it, it became more fluent and natural.

  • Big_Fat_Geek

Ah, you'll have your own radio show before you know it. ;)

  • Paul Prothero

Excellent App, can't wait to get it and play around with it more. On a side note, you like cheese?!

  • Big_Fat_Geek

Haha, still haven't tried that line out yet! (For the uninitiated, in a moment of madness on Monday, I suggested to the BMF crew that 'Do you like cheese' was the sort of thing you might ask a girl on a first date. And I wonder why I'm single.)

Great seeing you all on Monday, did you enjoy the recording session?
