Snack Man

It's hard to make progress with snacks on your trail...

After a break from exercise, re-motivating yourself to get out there and start exercising again can be really tough. I’m going back to British Military Fitness classes tonight, and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that the prospect of giving up and slumping in front of the telly was more appealing. But I’m not going to. (more…)

New Website

Our Swanky new App website: www.bmffitnessapp.com

Groo, Monday morning. Well, technically it’s Monday afternoon now. I blame the clocks going forward. Still, the one benefit of losing an hour’s worth of sleep yesterday was that it’s now a little brighter in the evenings – which means exercising outdoors will be a lot less challenging. (more…)

Posted by Big Fat Geek | British Military Fitness, Competition, Fitness, Geek, iPhone App | Friday 26 March 2010 11:58 am

In Stores Now!

Well after months of hard work, blood (not mine), sweat (mostly mine) and tears (only mine), my first iPhone app, ‘My Fitness Instructor‘ is finally in the App Store! Hooray!

I think we’ve managed to put together a really competitive premium app, and you can read all about it on our official app site. Suffice to say, it includes over 5,000,000 fully-voiced work outs (enough to do one a day for the next 13,000 years), a fully featured fitness test, a heart-rate monitor, and video demonstrations of all the exercises.

The App in action..

What’s even better though, is that we’ve got 5 copies to give away. So if you fancy winning one, just post the message below on you Facebook or Twitter account, and I’ll pick 5 of you at random.

Spotify for fat people

People often come up to me, and say: “Excuse me, you’re blocking the door”. But other, different, people often come up to me and say: “Jon, what music can I exercise to? What will get the blood pumping and the feet flying?” For them, and for you, I present my music to exercise to playlist. (more…)

Mmm, comfy.

Mmm, comfy.

According to Fitness First, you should “have an easy week every 4-5 weeks, where you only do half your usual workout”. Now admittedly, it doesn’t go on to say:”And you should probably also go out on the piss every night”, but I’m just going to take that as read.

Joff at the London Marathon

I don't actually have a picture of Joff doing a Marathon, but it'd probably look a lot like this.

Something a bit different today. After struggling a bit to get back on the exercise horse, I’ve asked my good friend Joff Brown to provide us with some great tips for the novice exerciser. (more…)
